The Jones County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Secretary/Matron.
You will be the first point of contact at the Sheriff's Office working directly with the public via phone and face-to-face. This is an environment of constant change. Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and be productive with interruptions.
Primary responsibility is to process civil and criminal court papers in a timely manner. Accountable for recording and entering information into the computer, as well as, maintaining various financial accounts. Work must be completed with accuracy and attention to detail.
This is a full-time union position eligible for complete county benefits.
Current wage range is $14.66 to $16.90 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
Requirements: 
  • Computer experience required. 
  • Must be hard working, smart, dedicated and motivated.
  • Effective communication skills necessary along with a commitment to continual learning.
