Provides support to students for tutoring, alternative text for academic accommodations and computer skills in a dynamic team environment.  Duties include: responding to walk-in, phone and email inquiries, working with faculty to identify and recruit tutors, demonstrating and troubleshooting computer technologies for students and general clerical tasks. This position may require working up to two evenings per week.

  • Provide positive support and strong customer service to students and faculty with frequent interruptions.
  • Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of tutors.
  • Assist in matching of tutors to students.
  • Assist with acquiring, converting, archiving and distributing alternative text materials.
  • Install, train, and troubleshoot software for students who are receiving academic accommodations.
  • Assist with general software support to student working on computers.
  • Perform various office clerical duties.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 2013 applications.

Position involves sitting much of the time in an office setting (frequently 34-66%). Constant (67-100%) talking and listening to people in person, viewing a computer screen and other types of close visual work. Occasional (10-33%) stooping, kneeling and crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting. Frequent (34-66%) walking, grasping and repetitive motion.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Combination of secretarial/clerical experience and/or post–secondary training equivalent to three years of full-time employment OR an Associate degree.
  • One year experience using word processing and computer equipment.
