The University of Iowa, Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP) seeks a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented professional to coordinate and perform contract and grant administrative support for the DSP. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering questions and communicating with University faculty, staff, and students regarding University and sponsors’ general policies and procedures, coordinating grant and contract related review and compliance documentation, entering information into the University of Iowa Research Information System (UIRIS) database, providing support for the DSP help desk; reviewing contracts and grants for internal distribution, issuing award notices, and reviewing and preparing agreements for the Director’s signature.

Position Qualifications (P&S)

Education or Equivalency Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some (six months to one year) administrative and financial experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Evidence providing customer service in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and ability to work collaboratively.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa general policies and procedures.
  • Administrative experience with research grants or contracts.
  • Experience working with the University of Iowa Research Information System (UIRIS).
