First Lutheran Church is seeking someone with strong accounting and administrative skills for the position of Director of Support Services. General areas of responsibilities include financial reporting, human resources, facility management, and overseeing work of office support staff. We are seeking someone who is well organized, works well with all kinds of people, and who brings a balance of being able to work with details and see the bigger picture. Responsibilities Include:
  • Timely and accurate financial reports and processes, including budgeting and analysis of variances
  • Oversight of all cash receipts and disbursements
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of employee payroll
  • Maintaining internal controls to ensure proper recording of financial data and safeguarding of assets 
  • Leadership, supervision and support to all administrative, communications and custodial staff
  • Maintenance and oversight of IT systems, ensuring data privacy and backup availability
  • Development and implementation of administrative processes to ensure office business is conducted efficiently and effectively
  • Management of facilities to ensure they are properly maintained and presented for use by congregation, and community groups
  • Act as a liaison to and active participant in administrative type ministry teams of the congregation, such as Finance, Property, Audit, Trust, Personnel

  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management or related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of direct staff management experience is preferred.  Work in a church environment is desired and will be given preference.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent project management skills desired
