Educational Support Services Associate - Center for Human Rights 

The University of Iowa Center for Human Rights (CHR) is inviting qualified candidates to apply for a half-time position as Program Associate. This position is responsible for providing support of the Center for Human Rights certificate program and direct services to students. The duration is for up to 1 year and is classified as a Specified Term Appointment.

Duties may include but are not limited to: 

  • Manage course planning for, provide instructor support during, and advise all students enrolled in the Human Rights certificate program

  • Appoint and manage undergraduate Center interns

  • Manage UICHR website and oversee the writing and distribution of the UICHR email newsletter

  • Develop promotional materials for the UICHR, Certificate Program in human rights, and UICHR internship programs

  • Conduct promotional visits to UI courses each semester to publicize UICHR student programming

  • Assist with the planning and promotion of UICHR events and programs as needed


A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Minimum one year experience in academic administration related to course management or department oversight; and minimum one year experience in student or intern management and oversight.  

Salary is $19,500 to $20,500 (based upon qualifications and experience), plus excellent university benefits http://hr.uiowa.edu/benefits/fpsmsemc.  

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of credential verification and a criminal background check.
