Academic Affairs Information Specialist

Job Information:

Cornell College invites applications for a part-time information specialist within the Division of Academic Affairs. This position is responsible for staffing the Old Sem Information Desk, which includes answering general questions, explaining regulations and procedures for the Registrar's Office, providing check cashing and bill payment services to students, and directing inquiries to appropriate administrative offices within Old Sem for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. In addition, the position will work primarily for the Registrar's Office, administering course evaluations, monitoring and responding to transcript requests, assisting with data entry and record maintenance, processing class attendance rosters each block, maintaining and updating websites for Academic Affairs, and coordinating office correspondence, such as enrollment and degree verifications, academic standing notices, etc. to students and parents.

Qualifications: 
High school diploma required, with a bachelor's degree preferred. A high attention to detail, speed, and accuracy with data entry required. Basic office skills required, including computers and copy/scan machines. Knowledge of database management, Word, Excel, Access, etc. Ability to effectively communicate and interact professionally in a variety of situations, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Fine finger movement is required for typing, data entry, and filing.
The annual recurring appointment period for this position runs from August 1 to May 31 each year and will work approximately 30 hours per week.
