Kirkwood Community College is seeking an Office Assistant for the Workplace Learning Connection department. Our service population is the K-12 education system of the Grant Wood Area Education Agency Area 10. The Workplace Learning Connection Office Associate position is located at the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa in Coralville. This position will be responsible for providing, under limited supervision, day-to-day support for the internal and external customers of Workplace Learning Connection and students, visitors and staff of the regional center. A high degree of independent judgment and decision-making, excellent computer and project management skills, and the ability to work cooperatively, in a team-based environment, with staff and customers are essential for success in this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Answer telephone calls on a multi-line system and provide information on Workplace Learning Connection services and procedures
•Support several Workplace Learning Connection team members with their clerical support needs
•Prepare correspondence, reports, lists, and other documents to support team needs
•Prepare, package, and distribute a variety of written materials to support activities and needs of the team
•Input data and support database maintenance and functions
•Receive and greet visitors to Workplace Learning Connection/Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa, Coralville center.
•Prepare purchase orders and requisitions for program purchases and supplies
•Prepare letters, minutes, reports and other related materials, as requested
•Coordinate group meetings from reservations through distribution of minutes
•Attend meetings, conferences and workshops, taking notes as appropriate
•Perform related work as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•High school diploma or equivalency required.
•Any combination of secretarial/clerical and/or post-high school secretarial training equivalent to three years full-time experience OR an appropriate Associate degree.
•Must have at least one year computer experience with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
•Experience with inputting information into a database system and running detailed reports.
•Comfortable with supporting technology and AV equipment set up and use by staff and visitors.
