EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT
Luther College seeks a full-time Executive Assistant to the President. The Assistant will perform a range of duties to ensure smooth operations of the office and develop effective systems for managing the President’s administrative needs. He or she will also work in concert with Cabinet members and others to communicate and carry forward projects. Duties will include: staff support for the President’s Office with the Board of Regents; manage the President’s calendar; respond quickly and efficiently to a high volume of scheduling requests and changes; draft and edit correspondence and communications; coordinate arrangements for the President’s travel; manage the President’s Office budget; plan special events; coordinate hospitality for the President’s house; coordinate arrangements for Cabinet meetings; represent the President’s Office on committees; and manage and update the President’s website. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
A bachelor’s degree is required with preference for a degree in a related field, such as English, communications, or marketing. Also required is a minimum of three years’ experience in positions with increasing levels of responsibility; demonstrated experience with supporting senior/executive staff with preference for experience in higher education; and computer proficiency. Candidates should also have the ability to multitask; make decisions independently and within a team; exercise confidentiality and professional discretion; and excellent writing, oral communication, and organizational skills.
