Senior Payroll Specialist

This person will perform accounting functions to review payroll taxes and liabilities to ensure that payroll tax returns and wires are prepared timely and accurately for outside vendors. The position will also prepare monthly ledger reconciliations, research tax notices, review mail, deposits, along with any other duties as assigned.


  • Review and reconcile payroll taxes and payroll liabilities.
  • Prepare wires to various vendors for payroll deductions.
  • Prepare monthly ledger reconciliations including research of outstanding items.
  • Prepare deposits within People Solutions and corresponding journal entries.
  • Review payroll tax returns and research tax notices with tax agencies.
  • Ensure the accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Project work as assigned.
  • Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.


  • Associates degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience. 
  • Four years of payroll or related experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting area preferred, with experience in payroll taxes beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Can multi-task, work independently or in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, customer service approach. 
  • Detail-oriented, accurate; work effectively individually and within a team, organizational and prioritization skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid employees will need to work at a Company office location at times and a remote work location (typically their home) at times.
