We are currently hiring for a Cost Accountant for our Accounting/Finance Team located at our Corporate offices in  West Liberty, Iowa.

Job Summary:

Cost Accountant is responsible the following:

  • Calculating  labor, material and production costs;
  • Reviewing standard and actual costs for variances;
  • Reporting variances to management for decision making purposes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage an integrated ERP system for current, accurate, complete accounting and reporting of product costs and cost of goods sold.
  • Review standard costs in the bill of materials and labor routings against actual costs for inaccuracies on an on-going basis.
  • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assist in the monthly accounting close process by completing journal entries, analyzing and reviewing the general ledger.
  • Analyze inventory costs and levels and perform variance analysis.
  • Prepare managerial reports as requested.
  • Problem-solving day to day issues and assisting/instructing others within and outside of the department in an effort to correct errors and complete tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
