Description:
The Accounting & Reporting Sr. Analyst will provide accounting and finance expertise to the Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) Micronutrition business.  The Micronutrition business includes the newly acquired Diamond V animal health and nutrition company as well as an equity investment in Delacon an Austrian phytogenic feed additive company.  The role, as part of the Accounting & Reporting team, will be responsible for the accuracy of business financial statements utilizing a core understanding of accounting standards and processes as well as development of strong business partnerships to deliver key management report to enhance decision making within the Micronutrition business. 

Principal Accountabilities:

50% Financial and Management Reporting:
  • Ensures accurate financial and management reporting through financial analysis of the balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flows.
  • Responsible for general ledger accounting including the execution of the month-end close process, P&L and balance sheet review.
  • Responsible for key management reporting information requests.
  • Applies a deep level of understanding to execute key financial analyses and reporting.  These analyses will include month end results, balance sheet and income statement trend analysis, Controller’s Review Package, and Lower level financial statement reviews, and other monthly and quarterly financial reporting requirements.  
  • Understanding and execution of quarterly financial consolidation processes and ability to meet all consolidation deadlines.
  • Accountable to ensure that all key information is reported and complete for the financial reporting package 
  • Build strong partnerships with business partners and collaborate across regional A&F teams as well as Corporate A&F/Technical Accounting, Tax, and Legal Centers of Expertise.                                 
25% Financial Operations and Controls:
  • Executes on key controls in financial processes, ensuring that our accounting/operational processes are in compliance with US GAAP, Cargill's policies & procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Ensures compliance with the financial control framework and that financial controls are operating effectively across end-to-end financial processes. 
25% Continuous Improvement
  • Identifies and implements process optimization, simplification and standardization.  Improves the efficiency of accounting activities

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6 or more years of accounting experience
  • Solid process and technical/system expertise
  • US GAAP knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadline effectively.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understand of and commitment to internal controls. 
  • Business acumen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with many functional groups and level - both written and orally.
  • Strong collaboration and including skills with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA, CMA, or another advanced certificate
