The Accountant II will be responsible for general finance, accounting and reporting activities.This associate will support the Accounting department by creating and reviewing reports, reviewing contracts, managing accounting software, writing checks and posting accounts payable.  It is essential that the Accountant meet all project deadlines, can multi-task and understand the needs of the business in a proactive manner.  This position will require flexibility, confidentiality, accuracy and a high level of detail.  

Essential Duties for BHFO Accountant II
  • Prepare and post accounting journal entries
  • Prepare and analyze accounting records, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Conduct month end and year end closing processes to prepare accurate and timely financial statements
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses
  • Develop, implement and document internal accounting control systems
  • Conduct contract reviews to minimize corporate risk
  • Manage large databases with use of excel and other software
  • Provide support for year-end inventory reconciliation process
  • Execute job duties in accordance with GAAP
  • Coordinate external auditor activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Certifications:
  • BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, and 2-4 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous experience with general ledger and growth models is preferred.
  • CPA certificate is strongly preferred.  
  • Experience in multi-state sales tax preferred but not required.
