Accounting Specialist

Job Information:

Berthel Fisher Companies, a family of financial services companies including two subsidiary broker/dealer firms servicing financial advisors across the U.S. has an immediate opening for a full time Accounting Specialist.  

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and assist with benefit administration.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain employee payroll data in payroll software
  • Process bi-weekly payroll including balancing of reports, funding payroll, and payroll taxes
  • Verify accuracy of payroll information in general ledger
  • Monthly and annual reconciliations for employee benefits
  • Ensure proper authorization, coding and input of all vendor invoices
  • Pay all vendor invoices timely
  • Perform all bank reconciliations
  • Ensure proper electronic storage of all A/P records
  • Maintain information for 1099 reporting at year end

Desired candidates will hold a two year degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field and 2 years of payroll/accounts payable experience.  Top candidates will have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and be detail oriented.
