YouthPort and our partner organizations provide programs and services to children and families that help build a stronger community. Our programs provide:

YouthPort's programs are created to meet specific neighborhood needs. They're designed by child development professionals to meet the needs of a diverse age range and are centered on family involvement and education.
Tanager Place is looking for a full-time YouthPort Specialist who will provide necessary direction, activities and oversight of YouthPort Collaborative and 21st Century Learning Community Learning Center grant. YouthPort Collaboration is between Tanager Place, Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids and Young Parents Network. This position is directly accountable to the Executive Director of Tanager Place.
•A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field with two years related experience,
•Strong interpersonal, organizational and writing skills necessary
•Must be a self-starter, and be able to work independently in an ever changing environment.
•Actively coordinate services on behalf of YouthPort member agencies to all appropriate youth signed up in the programs at corresponding sites, and oversee grant requirements for the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) grant.
•This position will represent YouthPort at community events, targeted presentations and functions and maintain a strong presence in the Cedar Rapids community.
•Will ensure a streamlined referral process and actively seek solutions for issues in the process. Attendance at YouthPort Advisory Board meetings required. Other duties include but are not limited to: administrative tasks, tracking of data, conducting satisfaction surveys, fundraising, ensure the expansion and qualify of programming, and addressing programmatic issues as they arise.
•Act as a positive emissary of Tanager Place and Collaborative agencies and promote a positive image at all times.
•Have an understanding and demonstrate consumer service concepts and initiatives.
