Director Organizational Development

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by directing the activities of the clinical, developmental and technical education teams and ensuring employees receive the education and development they need to create the perfect patient experience.

Job Specific Duties/Essential Functions

Designs and directs the activities of the Organizational Development team to provide on-going support in the areas of leadership development, coaching programs, organizational development, large scale organizational initiatives, etc.

Demonstrates strong leadership, management, organizational development, team building & facilitation, integration of change & conflict management knowledge, skills and practice.

Demonstrates ability to lead and/or facilitate teams and/or projects toward successful achievement of goals.

Provides processes, tools and resources to drive diversity and cultural sensitivity

Assesses organizational culture and creates and executes plans for cultural change

Collaborates to develop action plans related to the annual Employee Partnership Survey.

Works with department managers to hardwire change and increase engagement

Manages department budgets, productivity and resource allocation

Designs and Facilitates courses to meet organizational and leadership development needs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with good organizational, analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills including the ability to mentor and influence others is required.

Excellent critical thinking, creativity, communication and relationship building knowledge and skills

Professional Experience- Required vs. Preferred

Minimum five years' experience in staff development, training, and performance improvement required and two previous years of management experience required.

Education-Required vs. Preferred

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in related field preferred.

Licensure, Certification, Registration - Required vs. Preferred

· Performance improvement or learning and performance certification desirable.
