Human Resources Generalist

The Arc of East Central Iowa, a Cedar Rapids based non-profit, has an opening for a full-time HR Generalist. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to play a key role in fulfilling our mission of making a difference in the lives of those will intellectual and related disabilities, and their families.

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and the ability to work with all levels within the organization. The primary responsibilities of this position include: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. This full-time, exempt position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor to supervisory staff.

The requirements for this position include a BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or related fields preferred and a minimum of two years' experience in Human Resources. The ideal candidate will be able to showcase their leadership, problem solving, resourcefulness and communication skills. The ability to demonstrate proficiency using PCs along with proficiency in MS Office, with emphasis on Outlook, Excel and Word required. Experience working in an environment that serves individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus.
