The University of Iowa Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation is seeking Clinical Coordinator to provide administrative support and staff supervision for orthopedic workers' injury care. Work directly with wide ranging sub-specialist orthopedic surgeons to manage care, facilitate communication, and provide patient education for patients with musculoskeletal work related injuries.
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience Required: Current license to practice nursing. 1-3 years of clinical experience in orthopedics or occupational medicine; or 1-3 years of experience as a workers comp nurse case manager. Experience coordinating care along the healthcare continuum. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in MS Office computer software applications. Experience providing customer service in a direct or in direct manner when working with patients, care providers, case managers, or insurance carriers.
Highly Desirable Qualifications: Experience working with software applications IPR and EPIC.
Experience working in Orthopedic Clinics. Knowledge of Orthopedic Terminology.
Desired Qualifications: Working knowledge of practices, tools, and considerations for managing claims processing. Experience with management of musculoskeletal injuries. Working knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations.
