in the Integrated Strategic Planning and Business Development Department.
The Manager of Physician Relations reports to the Director, Strategic Affiliations and is
responsible for collaborative development and implementation of referring provider strategic
plans as well as for leading the Physician and Corporate Relations team within the Department
of Integrated Strategic Planning and Business Development. This includes enhancing the
referring provider channel experience with University of Iowa Health Care through external
customer meetings, project planning, evaluating systems, tools, and programs that support and
enhance the clinical relationship between University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC),
University of Iowa Physicians (UIP), and their physician and hospital partners in the community.
Identifies and monitors internal and external physician requirements associated with achieving
strategic business objectives and mutual patient care goals. Identifies and prioritizes barriers to
UIHC and UIP success. Develops and provides leadership for programs that drive positive
change in referring provider satisfaction with University of Iowa Health Care in the domains of
patient care/service, access, communication, and provider relationships. Provide strategic
insight/direction for operations of referral management systems and external provider
programs based upon identified customer needs centered on service excellence, service
recovery, and new business development.
