The Department of Pathology at the University of Iowa Health Care is currently accepting applications for a Clinical Care/Specialty Services Supervisor (working title: Patient Services Supervisor). This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual seeking to work in a fast paced learning environment within our DeGowin Blood Center.

This individual will be Responsible for supervision of DeGowin Blood Center patient services including operations, personnel management, patient and staff scheduling, standard operating procedures and regulatory compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and •Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA).

•Current license to practice nursing in Iowa.

•3-5 years nursing experience.

•Must be proficient in computer software applications.

•Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.

•Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills shown by successfully leading teams/groups in projects, ability to work independently, to perform multiple tasks simultaneously is required.

HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Experience working in an academic health care center is highly desired.

•1-3 years clinical apheresis experience is highly desired.

•Knowledge of FDA, AABB, College of American Pathologists (CAP), Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) standards is highly desired.

•Experience using highly specialized medical equipment is highly desired.

This position is primarily 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with some on-call hours.
