Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Shift: Monday – Thursday/ 6am – 6pm

Job Summary: The Driver Manager oversees the operations of Drivers. The Driver Manager's goal is to increase driver retention by providing them with miles, managing home time, and encouraging the drivers to provide excellent service.

Essential Duties:

•Manage assigned driver daily for planned time availability and requested days off

•Send preplans to drivers and secure load commitment in a timely manner

•Track and record driver performance from dispatch to delivery to ensure on-time service.

•Work closely with Safety, Maintenance, and Planning to ensure drivers comply with the policies and procedures of each department

•Monitor drivers to proactively identify issues that may cause turnover, then creating solutions

•Proactively identify issues that may occur with a driver's settlement or pay by working closely with Settlement and Payroll

•Proactively communicate with driver's on safety concerns

•Schedule shop services for truck and trailer detailing

Required Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Logistics or previous experience in commercial trucking industry

•Strong oral and written communication skills via telephone, email, and in person

•Previous experience with AS-400, Peoplenet, Electronic Logbooks, Netgraf, and PCMiler

•Strong multi-tasking, time-management, customer service, and organizational skills

•Ability to influence and motivate drivers, keeping driver satisfaction as the guideline

•Maintain positive working relationships

The successful candidate should be able to define problems and establish facts to assist with creating solutions. The candidate should be able to manage a large number of people, working under minimal supervision with strong decision making skills.
