TrueNorth, an Insurance and Financial Strategies firm headquartered in downtown Cedar Rapids, is currently seeking a Contractor Advisor for our ICX/Last Mile segment of Transportation. The primary responsibility of the Contractor Advisor is to make outbound calls and receive incoming calls from individual Contract Carriers, regarding the sale and service of business insurance coverages. The Contractor Advisor is also responsible for developing relationships with 3rd Party Logistics Providers' terminal or location managers to educate them on TrueNorth's program offerings, and to maximize success within the program.

A successful person in this role will have the ability to demonstrate a high degree of competence in critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, while also displaying strong time management/prioritization abilities, an attention to accuracy & details, a sense of urgency and a desire to continually learn.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•Receive incoming calls from Contract Carriers interested in purchasing business coverages for their contracts with 3rd Party Logistics Providers; provide outstanding customer service as well as gather information for the quote process (inbound)

•Make outbound calls to Contract Carriers from supplied call lists, to inform, answer questions, and obtain application information regarding the programs available (outbound)

•Consult callers on programs available to them and other programs TrueNorth offers, when applicable

•Answer phones in a professional and timely manner to ensure customers are serviced appropriately

•Review completed paperwork associated with Contract Carriers on a timely basis

•Maintain a positive attitude, even when dealing with difficult customers

•Maintain and provide quality customer service with clients, Contract Carriers on a daily basis, by providing consistent, timely and accurate service

•Monitor and review incoming faxes and e-mails from Contract Carriers

•Process and review incoming applications accurately and timely, present quotes to Contract Carriers

•Input application information, maintain correspondence, document notes and update necessary information in agency management systems on a timely basis

•Follow-up with Contract Carriers on incomplete applications and forms

•Assist in the execution of marketing material to available applicants

•Educate and inform Executive Level Management and Field Personnel at 3rd Party Logistics Provider of programs and application process

•Develop Contract Carrier relationships

•Understand the technology platform and drive automation

•Understand and study market trends, pricing and buying analytics

•Handle special requests or reports, as designated by the Production Team

•Increase industry and job knowledge, as measured by attendance at continuing education, attaining or updating designations, and participation in other agency training offerings

•Perform other duties as assigned, appropriate to the position

Education & Experience:

•High School Diploma or equivalent is required

•College degree or comparable work experience is preferred

•Prior experience in customer service is required

•Property/Casualty insurance licensing required within 30 days of employment and must be maintained annually

•Life & Health insurance licensing required within 90 days of employment and must be maintained annually

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office; specifically intermediate Word and Excel skills, basic Outlook and PowerPoint skills
