About this position:
GreatAmerica has an opportunity for a new Accountant to build their accounting skills in a team atmosphere. The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for ensuring that generally accepted accounting principles are followed in the preparation and presentation of financial reports. Beyond this, the team member will have the chance to work alongside our senior accountants on various projects and enjoy exposure to many facets of our business. We are a quickly growing company and this person will help ensure our financial I's are dotted and T's crossed!
Specific responsibilities include:
•Learn and understand the business (key operational drivers and accounting issues and related market forces)
•Understand the accounting impact of all relevant transactions and documents to ensure compliance with GAAP.
•Prepare and analyze Financial Statements.
•Reconcile the general ledger.
•Participate in month and year end closing.
•Assist with annual financial statement audit.
•Prepare and audit recurring operational reports.
•Prepare monthly reporting for various external customer programs.
•Provide an outstanding GreatAmerica experience to all customers.
Education, experience and skills required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
