The Lead Generation Specialist will help clients identify and qualify major donor prospects who are ready to meet with Major Gift Officers. Using a campaign-style survey, the Specialist will help to identify individuals that are good candidates for a current major gift. During interactions with potential major donors the Specialist will be responsible for actively listening and engaging in conversation with potential major donors, while recording responses to a series of questions. In favorable instances, the Specialist will be responsible for scheduling an opportunity for a major gift officer to meet and discuss major gift possibilities. After each contact the Specialist will create a contact report to share with the team to determine the most effective method of follow up.


• Engage donors to qualify their interest and capacity to make a transformational gift to the organization. Establish a rapport with those individuals and discuss the potential to set up a visit with the major gift officer

• Ability to research an organization on a daily basis to identify any potential items of discussion that may arise

• Establish good conversations with major giving prospects with the objective of setting up face to face meetings with a major gift officer and start to educate them over the phone on the value of their gift to the organization

• Manage and respond to follow up requests from prospective donors

• Continually improve tactics and processes to improve scheduling efforts & collaborate with major giving team to help ease the follow up process for all clients.

• Develop strong content knowledge of the major giving industry and RNL's products, services and thought leadership

• Assist in other areas when/if there is downtime as deemed necessary by direct supervisor Engage in personal phone calls to ensure that prospects leave the call with a positive experience regardless of outcome

• Ensure that contact reports contain accurate prospect details and contact information, along with a detailed summary of the conversation

• Learn from the sales executives by shadowing and participating in calls, visits, presentations and web demos

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Licenses/Certifications, Skills and Work Experience:


• High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong written and verbal communications skills. Enjoys diagnosing/consulting, debating and convincing others. Able to articulate logical thoughts and ideas clearly with; excellent written & oral communication skills

• Hard working and tenacious with a demonstrated a commitment to achieving performance goals both individually and within a team

• Quick Study. Has the ability to quickly learn products and packages

• Efficient. Must have excellent organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills while working under pressure, often showing initiative and resourcefulness but not dropping your attention to detail

• A friend of technology and information. Consistently uses data and advanced internet search skills

• Quick thinking. Ability to overcome challenges or obstacles in the moment

• Infrequent light physical effort required

• Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level is moderate


• Associates degree or higher

• Some relevant experience. Previous lead generation or sales experience preferred
