Kirkwood Community College is seeking a Senior Accountant Grants and State Funding who will manage the financial processes and procedures related to grants to ensure continued compliance with all rules and regulations. Supervise and mentor direct report(s) to accomplish individual, team, and department goals.
•Manage the assignment, development, maintenance, and analysis of grant budgets.
•Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while ensuring staff are appropriately trained.
•Provide regular communications with internal (KCC) project managers and external (260E) tax credit recipients regarding financial status of project(s).
•Maintain compliance with applicable college, state, and federal policies and regulations (including OMB circulars and grant regulations), while maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards.
•Provide assistance for annual audits of the college and related entities.
•Ensure all processes within area of responsibility have current documentation.
•Assist in the development of college accounting policies and procedures.
•Associate's Degree in accounting or related field
•10+ years of experience
•Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
•Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
•At least two years of Grants accounting experience
•Knowledge of Datatel software
