The University of Iowa Parking and Transportation Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time Senior Accountant position. Parking and Transportation operates three distinct units, Parking, CAMBUS and Fleet Services. Parking provides 16,000 public-hourly and permit spaces across more than 100 surface and structured parking facilities including the University's Hospital Parking Ramps. Fourteen facilities are cashiered. Parking has more than 250 employees, including 200 students. CAMBUS is one of the Iowa's most active transit systems providing more than 4.6 million annual rides. It is a student operated system with 34 buses and 175 employees. Fleet Services provides nearly 600 vehicles to the campus ranging from small electric cars up to large diesel trucks including a fifty-vehicle car rental service. Fleet also manages the University's vehicle fueling operations. Parking and Transportation in total employs approximately 65 full-time staff and more than 350 students and temporary employees.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing a wide range of financial and administrative functions ranging from budgeting (operating and capital), cash handling, financial reporting, audits, employee time records, inventories and supervising several finance and administrative staff. Parking and Transportation has extensive cash and credit card receipts in addition to revenues from governmental entities and university departments. Total annual revenues are approximately $30 million.
